JC Buehler

Principal

JC Buehler is an active pilot with a practice concentration in aviation law and civil mediation. He is admitted in Indiana and Illinois, and to the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. His education includes a B.A. from Indiana University, a J.D. from the Indiana University McKinney School of Law. He has been an adjunct professor of Aviation Law at the I.U. McKinney School of Law since 2017 and held prior teaching appointments at the University of Indianapolis and the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. He also was faculty at the Legal Officer College, Civil Air Patrol/USAFA and guest lecturer at Purdue University. He served on the Governor’s Aviation Asset Management Review Committee and is an FAA FAAST Team Representative. He was previously a Hearing Judge with the Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission and judge pro tem in the Marion Superior and Municipal Courts and the Putnam County Circuit Court.

JC is an FAA-Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) holding ATP and Flight Instructor certificates along with B727; B737; B757, B767, Westwind, CE-500; CE525S; and CE560XL type ratings with 20,000 hours logged. From 1983 to 2007, he was a pilot and check airman with ATA Airlines.

He is currently the President of the Indiana Aviation Hall of Fame, Inc. and a volunteer with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department. His professional memberships include the Aviation Lawyers Association, Lawyer-Pilots Bar Association, AOPA, EAA, Society of Aviation Flight Educators, and Quiet Birdmen.
